Bronze & Iron Requirement: A standard severance policy is in place for terminated employees (including for cause reasons to withhold severance, i.e., criminal activity, immoral or unsafe activity, etc) OR unemployment insurance is paid by the church.
Steel Best Practice: A severance policy is in place for terminated employees that grows based on tenure on staff, and vacation/PTO is paid out upon an employee’s departure.
