This January, we are shining a light on spiritual abuse and want to help give spiritual abuse survivors a voice, encourage churches to build safe environments, and spark conversations far and wide about the effects of spiritual abuse and how to end it. This page includes resources to help you spread the conversation and keep it going.
Want to spread the conversation but don't know how?
Get apparel from the Church Disrupted store to spread awareness and spark conversations about ending spiritual abuse. This isn't merch; it's wearable messages. All apparel is custom-made upon your order. Proceeds go to the Spiritual Abuse Institute to support awareness and educational content, keeping the conversation going (and growing) all year round.
Do you want to HELP your Church become a Safe Church?
Are you a Church Leader who is TIRED of seeing church scandals in the news?!
If you are tired of seeing one church scandal after another, we are with you. Church scandals hurt everyone, and it seems like they are endless lately. It doesn't have to be that way, though! Together, we can build safe church environments by committing to safe church practices. These practices not only protect people from spiritual abuse , but they also help protect your church from scandal and equip you to respond in the best way possible if bad things happen. We are looking for 1,000 local churches to join us and take the Safe Church Pledge in 2025.
For one weekend all over the globe, we are inviting Christians to join their voices together to fight spiritual abuse. Friday, January 31, through Sunday, February 2, people will spread awareness about spiritual abuse on social media and in their communities. We will engage in meaningful conversation about how to end it. And we will encourage churches to join the fight by taking the Safe Church Pledge.
Our voices are loudest when we join them TOGETHER. And EVERY VOICE counts.
Will you join us for Spiritual Abuse Awareness Weekend by lending your voice to this fight?
